Christianne Cyrenne Appointed Manager of the Borough of LaSalle
14 décembre 2021
Montréal, December 14, 2021 -Nancy Blanchet, Mayor of LaSalle, and her colleagues on Council are pleased to announce the appointment of Christianne Cyrenne as Borough Manager. At its regular meeting held on Monday, December 13, LaSalle Borough Council appointed a new Borough Manager: Christianne Cyrenne. She will take office on January 8, 2022, replacing current Borough Manager Benoit Gauthier, who will be retiring after a few weeks of transition.
Christiane Cyrenne, who graduated from the École nationale d'administration publique (ENAP) in 2015 with a Master's degree in Municipal Management, has 26 years of experience in the municipal field, including 19 years in the borough of LaSalle. Since joining the Direction des Travaux publics in November 2002, she served in turn as Section Manager and then Division Manager of Signage and Technical Support. In January 2017, Mrs. Cyrenne was appointed Director of Public Works. In this capacity, she guided this strategic department—which accounts for more than half of the borough's staff and operating budget—for nearly five years.
Mayor Nancy Blanchet wishes to point out that, upon completion of the process conducted to find a successor to the present Borough Manager, Christianne Cyrenne clearly stood out. Mrs. Cyrenne has a thorough knowledge of LaSalle territory and of all the major infrastructure projects under way and is above all well steeped in the culture and values that have always enabled LaSalle's Administration to excel. In addition, she is fully aware of LaSalle residents' high expectations in terms of local services. "Although we chose Mrs. Cyrenne for her management skills, her profile, her vision of public service and her extensive experience, my colleagues on Council and I are particularly proud to entrust the leadership of LaSalle to a woman, for the first time in its 110-year history," stated Mayor Blanchet.
The transition period between the arrival of new Borough Manager Christianne Cyrenne, at the beginning of January 2022, and the departure of her predecessor, Benoit Gauthier, will provide an opportunity to efficiently transfer the strategic files and to carry out a process to fill the position of Director of Public Works.
