Covid-19: Montréal has amended the services offered

Montréal, October 30, 2020 – In the context of COVID-19, and in conformity with the extension of health and safety measures imposed by the government of Québec as our metropolitan community moved into Level 4 – Maximum alert (red zone), Montréal would like to remind citizens of the changes to its services.

Outdoor activities
All activities organized outdoors, such as the cleaning of shorelines, are forbidden. Outdoor sports facilities, community gardens and drive-in theatres remain open.  

Libraries
Contactless book loans are available. Organized activities are forbidden.  

Accès Montréal offices and permit counters
Accès Montréal offices and permit counters remain open. The city continues to process and issue building and renovation permits.  No temporary occupancy of public property permits will be issued for artistic, cultural, social or sports events.                    

Community and cultural centres
All recreational activities that are not in the context of a school program must be suspended. No organized recreational activities may take place. Group classes are forbidden. 

Public consultation meetings and borough council meetings
Public consultation meetings and borough council meetings are held digitally.  No in-person meeting may be held with citizen groups and municipal authorities.  

Municipal court
In-person municipal court activities are maintained.  

Ecocentres
Ecocentres remain open.

Inspections
Fire prevention inspections and canine brigade activities are maintained.  

Sports facilities
All organized sports that are not part of a school program are suspended. No organized sports activity may take place. Group classes and organized sports are forbidden.

Indoor sports facilities remain open for free practice. 

In order to streamline access to information, Montréal is providing an interactive map showing all urban agglomeration facilities where currently permitted sports activities are offered, in compliance with government ordinances pertaining to COVID-19.

Museums and Space for life
Museums and Space for life facilities (Biodome; Botanical garden, its greenhouses and outdoor areas; Planetarium) are closed. As for the Insectarium, it is currently under construction.
