Borrow a "Living Book" from the Bibliothèque du Boisé
9 novembre 2018
Saint-Laurent, November 9, 2018 – "Living books" are making their debut at the Bibliothèque du Boisé. Four artists with different backgrounds, but who have all experienced the challenges of immigration, will tell their stories on Sunday, November 18, 1 p.m. - 4 p.m., as part of the intimist encounters entitled "Livres vivants à consulter sur place" ("Living books to consult on site"). Visitors will have the opportunity to meet one or more of the following artists for a 15-minute encounter:
Franck Billaud Photographer Native of France
Saoussen Ouerghemmi Visual artist Native of Tunisia
Yayo Author-illustrator Native of Columbia
Yu-Lin Tung Mandarin Professor at the CSDM Native of Taiwan
These artists will share their stories, sometimes funny, often touching and always inspiring, about their journey as an immigrant in Québec. Several sub-themes will be addressed, including the difficulties encountered along the way, and of course the beautiful surprises that their host country has had in store for them. Through this initiative, participants will be able to chat with the artists in the serene environment of the Bibliothèque du Boisé. Confiding and sharing are therefore part of these personal encounters!
Registration is required for this free event: Phone 855-6130, ext. 4436, to confirm your participation.
