Saint-Laurent, July 11, 2018 — At its general meeting on July 3, Saint-Laurent Council appointed Francesco Miele as Deputy Mayor for the period from July 5 to November 7, 2018. Accordingly, Mr. Miele will serve as the replacement and representative for the Mayor of Saint-Laurent, Alan DeSousa, if he is unavailable.
A Saint-Laurent resident since birth, Mr. Miele earned his Bachelor of Law degree at Université de Montréal in 2003 and, subsequently, his Law License in 2004 after completing an internship with the Autorité des marchés financiers. Elected to Saint-Laurent Council on November 21, 2010, Mr. Miele has held several positions at the metropolitan level ever since, including as Majority Leader on the Comité exécutif de la Ville de Montréal between 2013 and 2017. He presently serves as the assistant opposition leader and president of the caucus, and as the spokesperson for urban planning and major parks. Since April 2011, he as also served as a member of the Société de transport de Montréal's Board of Directors.
