Subsidies granted to fight poverty and social exclusion

Montréal, le 5 juin 2018 - The Borough of Pierrefonds-Roxboro has paid more than $60,000 in grants with agreements to three local organizations that have presented action plans to combat poverty and social exclusion in its territory.
Local organizations were invited to submit projects. The three organizations selected are:
Action jeunesse de l'Ouest-de-l'Île for its project of Travail de millieu;
Maison des jeunes de Pierrefonds which will see to social inclusion;
Cloverdale Multi-Ressources for its project Amusons-nous à Cloverthèque - Joujouthèque LUDI.
"It is very important for us to ensure that all citizens are entitled to the same services and activities. Those in need will be able to receive what they need to avoid poverty and social isolation. Street workers and men and women will enable young people to express themselves, children to develop and have fun, and women to develop and expand their social network with such initiatives. said Pierrefonds-Roxboro Borough Mayor Dimitrios (Jim) Beis.
These projects will be entirely financed by the Ville de Montréal under the Administrative Agreement on the Management of the Fonds québécois d'initiatives sociales au titre des Alliances pour la solidarité (Ville-MTESS 2013-2018).
The above-mentioned organizations will receive $31,350.26, $11,900 and $16 901,60 respectively.
