New Local Sustainable Development Plan in Pierrefonds-Roxboro
13 mars 2018
Montréal, le 13 mars 2018 - The borough of Pierrefonds-Roxboro tabled its new Local Sustainable Development Plan to Council on March 12, 2018. This is the second such plan in the past six years. The first one was launched in 2012 and covered the period from 2012 to 2015. The actions of the plan tabled this week will be carried out between now and 2020.
The numerous actions taken within the first plan included reserved lanes set up on major boulevards for buses, taxis and vehicles with 2 or more people on board, improvements to the quality of the living environments in residential areas, green waste collections introduced throughout the territory and the Borough's annual participation in the "A Tree for My Neighbourhood" campaign as well as hundreds of trees planted on public property.
This year, in addition to the objective of maintaining and improving the actions taken in the first plan, actions will be carried out in relation to the following four priorities: greening, increasing biodiversity and ensuring the sustainability of resources, ensuring access to healthy, sustainable neighbourhoods on a human scale, reducing GHG emissions and dependence on fossil fuels, and making the transition to a green, circular, responsible economy.
