Saint-Laurent, February 29, 2016 - Early this morning, the teams at Public Works began deicing the public roadways, while being especially vigilant on the Borough's sidewalks. The operation involves the use of 22 pieces of equipment (sidewalk salt spreaders and plows) that are constantly operating throughout the territory.
Pedestrians and motorists are asked to proceed with extreme caution
As a result of temperatures fluctuating above and below the freezing point, which produces precipitation comprising snow mixed with rain and freezing rain, citizens, including motorists and pedestrians, are asked to use extreme caution.
The Borough of Saint-Laurent uses an annual average of between 14 000 tons of salt and abrasives to de-ice its territory.
