New Collection Schedule Starting Monday, February 29 : Household waste and recycling collections on the same day
22 février 2016
Montréal, le 22 février 2016 - Starting February 29, a new collection schedule will be getting under way in LaSalle. The Borough urges residents to refer to the collections calendar, which was mailed to them during the month of January, in order to find out what the collection schedule is in their sector. The new schedule was also published in the latest issue of Accent newspaper, in addition to being posted on the Borough's Internet site. Also check the advertisement in the most recent issue of Le Messager LaSalle.
"We are changing our procedures in order to cut down on the amount of waste materials that we collectively send to the waste disposal site," explained Mayor Manon Barbe. "This new schedule is more flexible and simpler for residents because household waste and recycling collections will be carried out together, on one single day in each sector."
Overview of changes
• Recycling: The four recycling collection sectors remain unchanged. Your recycling collection day is therefore the same as it was in years past. • Household waste: The household waste collection will be carried out on the same day as the recycling collection in your sector: Mondays (green sector), Tuesdays (yellow sector), Thursdays (red sector) or Fridays (blue sector). • Bulky waste and CRD: The collection of bulky waste and construction, renovation and demolition debris (CRD) will be carried out on the first Wednesday of the month for all sectors, starting March 2, 2016.
Full details on the new collection schedule may be found on the Borough's Internet site (ville.montreal.qc.ca/lasalle). Starting February 29, residents may also find out what their collection schedule is by entering their postal code on the Info-collectes page of Montréal's Internet site (ville.montreal.qc.ca/info-collectes).
