Accessibility for people with special needs

Disabled visitor in the First Nations GardenFor many years, our institutions have made a number of efforts to make tours as enjoyable as possible for persons with reduced mobility. In collaboration with Kéroul, a non-profit organization that promotes accessible tourism and culture, we have implemented an accessibility policy and worked hard to adapt the infrastructures and services to meet the needs and expectations of persons with disabilities; as adequately as possible.

The audioguides, guided tours, allowing guide dogs in the museums and providing wheelchairs are among the services we offer.

In 1999, a special garden was designed for people with visual impairments at the Botanical Garden. The Courtyard of the Senses (site in French) offers a different kind of garden tour for the visually impaired and anyone who would like to discover plants in a new way. The tour engages the senses of taste, touch, smell and hearing. Visitors are guided by a series of signs in Braille, French and English.

Group tours

Groups of 10 or more persons with handicaps are eligible for the group rate. A guide is provided, free of charge, to each person with a handicap (physical or mental).
