The Printemps de la danse: watch out for it in April within the Accès culture network

Presented in cooperation with Tangente, the Ville de Montréal had endeavoured since 1997 to promote the quality and originality of new talent in contemporary dance in Montréal through the Printemps de la danse event. Every year, the city’s cultural presenters and Dena Davida, artistic director of Tangente, select a few works by choreographers who have already presented their work at Tangente during the previous season. This partnership gives the general public an opportunity to sample the diversity of Montréal’s dance scene, prolongs the lifespan of certain works and provides young artists with touring experience. Each evening is followed by an interview with the artists led by Tangente, which gives the audience an opportunity to get to know the dancers and choreographers.

Amongst the now well-known choreographers who have been featured during the Printemps de la danse, there are Dominique Porte, Harold Rhéaume, Catherine Tardif, David Pressault, Emmanuel Jouthe and Estelle Clareton.

For this 14th edition of the Printemps de la danse, the public is invited to discover the choreographies of Andrew Turner, Eryn Flynn and Yaëlle Azoulay.
