TAX TO FINANCE THE CONTRIBUTION PAID TO THE AUTORITÉ RÉGIONALE DE TRANSPORT MÉTROPOLITAIN (ARTM)
Since 2019, Montréal has imposed this tax aiming to finance partially the contribution paid to the Autorité régionale de transport métropolitain (ARTM). The ARTM plans and promotes public transit services across the greater metropolitan area.
The tax concerning the ARTM must reflect the same structure as the general property tax. This tax is thus applied by taking in consideration the differentiated rates according to the same parameters : one rate for value not exceeding $625,000 and a other rate for value exceeding $625,000.
The rates by category of immovable are the same for all sectors.
