This contest was made possible through the cooperation of different branches of the city’s Service du développement culturel, de la qualité du milieu de vie et de la diversité ethnoculturelle, including the libraries, cultural diversity, social diversity, income security and the Bureau du cinéma et des festivals.

111The Biblioclip contest was held from October 4, 2007 to February 29, 2008. Participants from all over the world were invited to create a video between 30 seconds and one minute, 30 seconds in length using the themes of "libraries" and "Montréal" in an original way.

The jury had the difficult task of selecting four winners out of the 94 videos that were submitted. The jury was composed of actress Valérie Blais, director Vincent Wilson, François Comeau, creative director of Pixman (formerly of Cossette Interactif), and Louise Guillemette-Labory, associate director of Montréal’s public libraries. Denis Vézina, assistant to the director, served as moderator.

The awards ceremony and showing of the videos took place on April 22, 2008 at the Société des arts technologiques (SAT) with special guest Catherine Sévigny, associate advisor of culture for the city. The winners are as follows:
