Sports and Recreation

Resources

At your service

Sports, social and cultural activities, courses and just plain relaxation … there’s something for everyone in Côte-des-Neiges–Notre-Dame-de-Grâce, regardless of your interests, age, time constraints or budget.

There are all the city facilities, of course (skating rinks, tennis courts, swimming pools and so on), but also a vast range of sports and recreation activities, from gymnastics to hockey and even summer camps. It’s all thanks to collaboration between the borough culture, sports, recreation and social development department and its partners.

The department also supports non-profit and social development organizations.

Activities

You’ll find it all in the Sports and Recreation directory

For all the details on activities in your borough, pick up a copy of the Côte-des-Neiges–Notre-Dame-de-Grâce Directory of Sports and Recreation Activities from local Accès Montréal offices, libraries, Maisons de la culture, sports and recreation facilities and community centres. The directory is updated once a year, generally in September. The borough also produces a special issue of Savoir Faire, the borough newsletter, every summer, with suggestions for fun summer activities in Côte-des-Neiges–Notre-Dame-de-Grâce.

Special events in the park? Great idea!

If you’re thinking of organizing a special event in a park, on a street or in an alley, remember that you’ll need authorization and that you have to obtain public liability insurance coverage when holding events on public property. The city has adopted by-laws to ensure that these events pose no public safety hazard.

However, since public events like these contribute to improving local quality of life, the borough offers various logistical and co-ordination services for residents wishing to organize such events. For more information on the authorization required and services offered, contact the culture, sports, recreation and social development department at 311 or 514-872-0311 (outside of Montréal).
