| Lachine’s borough council has five members: 
- The borough mayor*
- One city councillor* and
- Three borough councillors: one for each of the territory’s three
districts: Canal, J.-Emery-Provost and Fort-Rolland
The borough council has jurisdiction over local matters as stipulated in
Montréal’s city charter, in the following areas:
- Urban planning
- Culture
- Recreation
- Environment
- Local economic, community and social development
- Parks
- Roads
- Housing
- Fire prevention
* The borough mayor and the city councillor also sit on
city council. en
