Reinspection of residential properties on the island of Montréal from April 1 to June 30, 2009

Every nine years, Montreal’s assessment department (La Direction de l’évaluation foncière de la ville de Montréal, DEFVM) must proceed with the inspection of all residential properties located on its territory. This obligation stems from “An Act respecting municipal taxation R.S.Q., c. F-2.1 section 36.1” whose objective is to insure the correctness of the data related to each unit of assessment.

In order to carry through these inspections, the DEFVM wishes to inform the owners of single family residences, duplexes and triplexes on the Island of Montreal of the visit of its technical and professional staff in the above mentioned period.

Procedure:

The technical or professional staff who will visit the owners of the above mentioned properties, will identify themselves by means of a city identity card. This inspection will generally consist in an external examination and photography of your property.

Beginning/ Time

The next inspection of residential properties identified above will take place between April 1st and June 30th 2009.

The visits of our technical and professional staff will occur from Monday to Friday between 8hrs. and 18hrs, except on holidays.

As far as this reinspection project is concerned, the following towns and borough have already been completed:

  • (Borough 09) Anjou
  • (Town 14) Montréal-Est
  • (Town 02) Baie d’Urfé
  • (Town 15) Montréal-Ouest
