The Direction de
l’évaluation foncière de la Ville de Montréal tables the new 2011 assessment
rolls of the 16 municipalities of the Montreal urban agglomeration. They will
come into force on January 1st, 2011 for fiscal years 2011, 2012 and 2013.

Delivery of the recall
letters "without prejudice" concerning the requests for information as part of
the collection of economic data, for the preparation of the upcoming rolls.
Documents must be returned before October 16th, 2009. Should the documents
not be received within the prescribed time limit, legal action provided by Law
may be taken by the City without any further notice.

With the intention of
conforming itself to the decision rendered by the Court of Quebec on March 14th,
2007, the Direction de l'évaluation foncière de la ville de Montreal now
broadcasts the name of the owners inscribed on the assesment rolls on its
internet consultation site.
As a result, the internet assessment roll extracts now show the name of the
main owner of the unit of valuation, and the official form extract introduces
all the owners inscribed on the role, with their mailing address,

By virtue of the
resolution CG06 0519 of the Council of agglomeration of the City of Montreal,
the 2007 three-year rolls, deposited on September 13th, 2006, for 2007, 2008 and
2009 were extended for one year and will be applied until December 31st,
2010.
This decision was made following the adoption of bill 55, sanctioned on
December 14th, 2006, which provides, in articles 138 - 145, the modalities
allowing the one year extension of the rolls deposited in 2006, 2007, 2008 or
2009 and the spreading out of the variation of values over a 4 year period.

The city's Direction de l'évaluation
foncière has created a new version of its Web site, which features useful
information about real estate assessment and an extract of the assessment roll
in a user-friendly format.
