Exhibitions
Since it reopened in the fall of 2001, the CHM can proudly say that it has offered only new material! Its fresh new permanent exhibition invites you to explore a veritable "machine for seeing Montréal differently." After a stroll across the rooftops and a unique view over Vieux-Montréal, you reach the temporary exhibition. Several of the temporary exhibitions have been transformed into virtual or travelling exhibitions.

And what's more: Retro movies. Live coverage of … nightlife in the 1940s, Christmas in the 1950s on Sainte-Catherine, La Fontaine park in 1956… Dozens of archival films are shown in continuous projection so you can experience rich and engaging historical moments. In collaboration with the National Film Board of Canada.
