Space rental

You can rent either the ground floor or the multi-purpose room at the Centre d'histoire de Montréal for your special events.

Specifications for the CHM premises available for rent

For launches, press conferences, etc. (Mariage and birthday are not allowed)

Ground floor of the museum, in two zones :

  • Interior section for the event itself :
    • About 30 places seated plus about 100 standing;
    • Equipment available: 30 chairs, one lectern, one podium (dimensions: 35 inches x 48 inches x 9½ inches high), 5 easels;
    • A sound system (rented by you) can easily be set up;
    • Access through the rear door (delivery area).
  • Museum lobby with reception table and buffet :
    • A reception table with two chairs (tablecloth needed but not included);
    • Possibility of three buffet tables (tablecloths needed but not included);
    • A portion of the reception table could be used, if desired, to serve drinks;
    • Posters can be put up on the walls;
    • Trash cans;
    • 20-cup coffee pot (milk, sugar, glasses and stir-sticks not included);
    • Access to drinking water;
    • Access to the cloak room;
    • There is no refrigerator.

Dimensions of the rooms:

  • Museum lobby area: 500 square feet ( 20 feet x 25 feet );
  • Interior area: 440 square feet ( 20 feet x 25 feet , less the elevator);

Available evenings or daytime when the museum is closed.

Rates: Starting at $650.00 (minimum of 4 hours).
Obligatory presence of a Security officer (18$/hour)

For conferences, round tables, meetings, assemblies, etc.

  • Multi-purpose room, 1 st floor


    • "Assembly" configuration: one or two tables, 50 chairs;
    • "Round table" configuration: 8 tables, 20 chairs;
    • Screen and overhead projector;
    • 27-inch TV, DVD and VCR;
    • Portable CD.
    • Private cloakroom in the multi-purpose room itself;
    • A 2 or 3-table buffet can be set up in the adjoining corridor (tablecloths required but not included);
    • 20-cup coffee pot (milk, sugar, glasses and stir-sticks not included);
    • Access to drinking water;
    • Small Refrigerator.

Room dimensions:

480 square feet ( 20 feet x 24 feet ).
A small adjoining room of 14 feet x 10 feet is also available.

Available at all times, day and night, depending on reservations.
