Collection of Equipment from Information and Communications Technologies
(ICT)
Since December 2009, the Verdun Borough has been giving residents the
opportunity to discard their old ICT equipment—from information and
communications technologies—in a safe and environmentally-friendly way. A
special container is made available to residents and is located at the Ateliers
municipaux building (at 1177, rue Dupuis).
During the following hours, these
items may be disposed of in the special container identified
for this purpose:
Monday – Thursday: 7:30 a.m. – 3 p.m.
Friday: 7:30 a.m. – 11:30
a.m.
Saturday: 9 a.m. – noon
Please take note that residents must place their ICT equipment in the
container themselves, as there is no staff available to handle these items;
however, there is a door on the side of the container, so that residents don't
have to drop the items over the container wall.
It should be noted, as well, that such ICT equipment doesn't
necessarily have to be in working order. It may be damaged, but without
any parts being broken (for example, no broken glass). In fact, it is
the components of such equipment that are collected and recycled. The following
items are accepted:
-
Cables and other computer components
-
Stereo systems
-
Keyboards
-
CRT screens and flat ones (LCDs and plasma)
-
Printers
-
DVD and VHS players
-
Scanners
-
Personal computers and laptops
-
Radios
-
Mouses
-
Sound systems
-
Televisions (CRTs and flat screens)
-
Televisions with built-in DVD or VHS players
The Verdun Borough is asking all residents for their cooperation in
discarding their ICT equipment in an environmentally-friendly way. We are
therefore encouraging you to contribute toward recycling this
equipment.
