Judo
Club de Judo Verdun
Founded in 1981, the Club de Judo de Verdun is a non-profit organization managed by judokas members and parents of young judokas. Main goal of the club is to offer a sports activity at accessible fees. The borough of Verdun’s Culture, Sports, Recreation and Social Development department offers a financial support and provides following services to members:rooms, cloakrooms and showers. Affiliated to Judo Quebec, the club allows to volunteers to take part in regional and provincial competitions. The club counts nearly 100 members, qualified professors and a modern dojo.
Course
Judo is a martial art from Japan. It is an Olympic sport (since 1964). The taught techniques are those of non-violence and not-resistance. The judo term means: the way of flexibility. The judo is a sport for all those who want to acquire a good physical condition: children, teenagers and adults (men and women). The judo helps also for psychological balance because it increases self-confidence, brings safety, develops the concentration and contributes to the control of the stress.
