Change in Zoning
The zoning by-law may be amended for various reasons. Regulations may evolve
and be improved over time. Changes may be made to make these regulations
clearer, more flexible and more consistent. Repeated projects containing
desirable but noncompliant features may occasionally result in amendments to the
zoning by-law, so that such features will be permitted in the future.
Amendments may also result from such changes in neighbourhoods as the
construction of new residential buildings and the emergence of new needs and new
products, such as heat pump installations. If such a change is considered to be
desirable, the Direction de l’aménagement urbain et des services aux
entreprises will prepare a draft by-law amending the existing zoning by-law
and present the draft during a public hearing .
