Buildings - Verdun Catholic School Board

In 1898 the first school board was established in Verdun. It was known as the "Municipalité scolaire du village de la rivière Saint-Pierre à Verdun". In 1900, Monseigneur Richard was appointed head of the school board and remained in that position until the Verdun Catholic School Board was established in 1933.

One century later, the educational system was overhauled and two school boards were established, each based on the language of instruction.

  • The Lester B. Pearson school board for English-speaking institutions.
  • The Marguerite-Bourgeoys School Board for French-speaking institutions.
