Orchestre à Vents du Suroît at the Campbell Concerts
Verdun, July 16, 2008 - This summer, as part of its program of special events held at its parks, the borough is presenting one of the shows featured in the Campbell Concerts. The public is invited to the concert by the Orchestre à Vents du Suroît at 4 p.m. on Saturday, July 26, at Archie Wilcox park (corner boulevard LaSalle and Woodland).
Under the baton of Theresa Landry, some thirty musicians form the dynamic Orchestre à Vents du Suroît. A genuine passion for music is the tie that binds all the members of this group, whose repertoire—ranging from film scores to classical compositions to music of the world—is guaranteed to please all types of audiences. The concert in on July 26 will include several Beatles' top hits, musical excerpts from "Grease" and "Mary Poppins" as well as such popular pieces as "Pachelbel's Canon" and "Mas Que Nada."
Presented by the Charles S. Campbell Estate, in order to perpetuate this benefactor's will to encourage local artists and hold free concerts in the parks, the Campbell Concerts will be treating their audiences to an outstanding program at a number of Montréal parks, once again this summer.
