Verdun Local Development Month
Since 1993, Verdun has designated November as its Local Development Month. Local development refers to the set of community revitalization initiatives deployed by local merchants, professional workers and other parties.
A program has been created to stimulate, to mobilize and to facilitate the networking process and to thus forge creative synergies. Activities such as the city tour for members of the business community, Midi-Motivation events, the Rendez-vous d'affaires de l'île des Sœurs Club, the gala supper and Tip of the Hat and Great Verdunite gala recognition events are held throughout the month of November.
A leading member of the business community receives a plaque at the end of this month in recognition of his or her contributions to the borough's economic development.
