| Local Economic Development
Les Grands Verdunois
Since 1993, the Forum économique de Verdun has been organizing a competition
during Local Development Month (in November) to highlight the important and
significant involvement of its model residents. This competition is designed to
develop a sense of pride as well as a feeling of belonging to the Verdun
community.
Nomination process
A nomination form must be signed by two people (residing in Verdun and/or
having a place of business or holding a management position in a Verdun
institution) and explain the reasons for nominating this candidate for the
award.
A Selection Committee is appointed by the executive committee of the Forum
économique de Verdun. Members of this Committee come from the social, community,
health, educational and economic development fields. The nomination forms are
examined by the Committee, which selects up to two Grands Verdunois award
winners and submits their names to the Forum's executive committee.
Eligibility criteria
- Be a current resident of Verdun or have resided in Verdun for over 20
years
- Have contributed in an important and significant manner to Verdun's
development, to its commercial, industrial or institutional (educational,
health, recreational) life or to its social, economic or community sectors
- No nominee may hold a position of, or be a candidate for, school
commissioner, borough or city councillor or member of Parliament or of the
National Assembly.
