How to have your street zoned for residents
only
SRRR zones provide residents with a permit, making it easier for them to park
their vehicle—generally between 8 a.m. and 9 p.m.—on streets in the
neighbourhood where people from elsewhere often park.
The procedure for requesting an SRRR zone is as follows:
-
A resident makes a written request explaining why a new parking zone
should be established on his or her street.
-
The request is then forwarded to the Commission des travaux publics,
de la circulation et de la sécurité, which examines it in accordance with
a specific procedure.
-
Borough council then makes a final decision.
-
If the zone is accepted, the borough sends a notice to residents.
