Permits and certificates

Renovation - Construction

Building in the Borough

A permit is required for all renovation or maintenance work over $10,000.

Before you get started, plan your work and try to anticipate what it will involve. Some work may have an impact on public land, through excavation, relocation of a fire hydrant, connection or disconnection of the water supply service, etc. This is why permits are often required.

Only maintenance, repair and replacement work that has no impact on resident safety or quality of life does not require a permit.

Check with us ahead of time to ensure that your work complies with urban planning regulations
