By-law application

No one may use pesticide (herbicides, insecticides, fungicides) on laws, trees or shrubs except in the event of severe contamination jeopardizing human or plant life. Under such circumstances, approval must be obtained from the Urban Planning and Business Services Department before a pesticide application permit may be obtained.

A permit is required to apply pesticide used to control spiders and ants on the exterior walls of a structure. In the case of spiders, pesticide may only be applied around the perimeters of doors and windows.

No permits are required for the application of biopesticide (as defined by the Agence de réglementation de la lutte antiparasitaire) to lawns, trees, shrubs spiders and ants.
