| Permits
Temporary Car Shelter
Seasonal carports are permitted from November 1 of a given year to
April 15 of the following year only in the Desmarchais-Crawford and
Wellington-de-l'Église neighbourhoods. They are prohibited in
L'Île-des-Soeurs neighbourhood.
No permit is necessary to install a seasonal carport .
However, certain rules must be observed.
Rules
- The carport must be installed in the backyard.
- It may be no larger than 40 m².
- Only patented carports of reputable industrial manufacture are permitted.
- The carport must be white, beige, grey or transparent in appearance; it
must be smooth, free of marks or perforations and kept in good condition.
- The carport's frame shall consist of dismountable metal tubing and shall
have a bearing capacity enabling it to withstand bad weather.
