Hazardous Household Waste

Hazardous Household Waste (HHW) poses a real threat to the environment. Disposal of HHW in trash or sewers is strictly forbidden. HHW should not be mixed together or transferred to another container, because of the risk of noxious chemical reactions. Such mixtures also prevent the recycling of such products. More information may be found in the French publication:

How to dispose of HHW?

You may dispose of HHW in any of the following three ways:

  • By going to one of the Borough's buildings that collects HHW. For the list of buildings and products collected, click here.

  • By checking the list of stores that accept such substances. See "Other HHW collection locations" section further on this page.

  • At Éco-centre Eadie  (located at 1868, rue Cabot – near rue Saint-Patrick; tel.: 514-872-0384) or at the new Éco-centre LaSalle (located at 7272, rue Saint-Patrick - between Senkus and Léger; tel.: 514-872-0384) - website in French

NEW!  HHW Collection

The HHW collection that usually took place in the Verdun Borough in the month of September will no longer be held. The opening of Écocentre LaSalle this fall and the substantial costs associated with these HHW collections has prompted Ville de Montréal to reconsider the continuation of these collections in certain sectors of the Montréal agglomeration.
