Graffiti
The placement of graffiti and the placement, marking, engraving or
stencilling of signs, tags or messages on any building, any monument, and
boarding or street furniture is forbidden.
Doing so is a criminal offence, punishable by severe fines.
The borough has invested considerable amounts over the years to produce an
urban environment that is more pleasant for everyone. The borough also
systematically removes graffiti found in public and private places.
Prevention
- Keep the site clean and free of trash.
- Place a grating over the wall.
- Install a motion-triggered lighting system.
- Plant vines or shrubs.
- Paint a mural over the structure.
Systematically file complaints with the police at
514-280-2222 or contact the Accès Verdun
office, 3-1-1 to report the presence of graffiti
on a public or a private structure.
