Do not introduce plant or animal species in nature parks(article 3.03)

Never dispose of your pets or exotic animals in a natural environmentIntroducing new animals or plants not usually found in the park causes various problems. Purple loosestrife, buckthorn and knotweed may cause original plant and animal species to disappear or move away, thereby disrupting biodiversity.

The purple loosestrife is the perfect example. This horticultural plant, which was first introduced in ornamental gardens, has now invaded natural wetland, causing other native plants to disappear.

Another example is the terrapin. This exotic species found in pet stores, which people abandon much too easily, has managed to displace the indigenous painted turtle.

Never abandon exotic or domestic animals in a natural environment. Respect the ecosystem’s fragile balance.
