In India, Children's Day has been celebrated for more than 30 years on the anniversary of Nehru's birth. Nehru, the famed prime minister of India was a friend of Gandhi, who saw in children the key to his country's future. Also, the founder of the Turkey republic, Ataturk,  has established since 1924 a national children's day which is now celebrated each year, on April 23rd.

Children have had their own special day since 1999 in Montréal. All participants appreciate La Fête des enfants de Montréal for its site, quality programming, free activities and accessibility to everyone.La Fête reflects the family spirit that exists in Montréal. It is a major gathering highlighting brotherhood and diversity.

La Fête has become one of Québec's major events because of its unique character and because it brings people closer together. The steady increase in attendance over the last six years proves the event's immense success.

An event enjoyed by the young and the young at heart!
