Girafes

For this work, the artist used metal rods normally used in structural frameworks for buildings. This unusual material in the visual arts of the 1960s gives rise to a gigantic three-dimensional design where void plays an integral role. This composite figure was created using very limited means. The work’s large size and the silhouette’s intersecting lines thus allow for the association between its shape and a group of stylized animals.
