Montréal enjoys a rich tradition of public art. With easy access in the urban landscape, works of public art define our metropolitan environment. Whether integrated into parks, public areas, libraries or cultural centres, these works are part of the decor of citizens' daily surroundings, and represent, for some citizens, their first contact with artistic creation – accessible and free creation.

Blending architecture, design, visual arts or all three at the same time, public art constantly displays artists' creativity and the diversity of artistic expression. It also relies on talented designers and artisans.

A reflection of our history, the city's collection of public art is vast, comprising almost 300 works spread over the whole island, 225 of which are on outdoor sites and 75 of which are integrated into architecture. The collection consists of sculptures, monuments, busts and contemporary works of art.

This site invites you to browse through Montréal's collection of public art in all its diversity. You can also discover the genius of creators of public art all over Montréal's territory.
