The city’s logo, which was derived from various coats of arms, represents a flower. The flower’s four petals assume the shape of the city’s initials (V for Ville and M for Montréal). The cross at the heart of the logo represents the fact that Montréal has always been at the crossroads of the key pathways of communications and of civilization. |
