Visual identity includes the following two elements:
- the logo of the former city or the
rosette
- the type face or the word Montréal
These two elements are inseparable and must be used as is.
Logo
The rosette is placed to the right of Montréal.
Typeface used for the word Montréal
Rotis SemiSans extra bold 75 was chosen as the typeface for its great legibility, style and modern look. However,
it was modified slightly to spell out the word Montréal. It is important to use the original formats provided by the
city.
The corporate signature may never be modified.
Official colours
The logo must be in red (Pantone 032), and the word Montréal as well as the name of the borough, in black. The corporate signature may also be in black. A version in white (reversed) is also available for use when the signature must appear in a non-official colour on a photo, illustration or against a busy background. The reversed version of the corporate signature must no be used against backgrounds that do not offer sufficient visual contrast. For monochrome printing (one colour), it is preferable to use a reverse version of the signature against the monochrome background created from a block or as part of the visual concept.
