Activities
The Verdun borough offers a full slate of sports and recreation activities in winter and summer. Consult the Summer 2019 activities program (in French only) in to find out more.
Go to Loisirs Montréal (in French only) to register online for activities offered in Verdun and view the activities offered across the entire city.
To register online, please have in your possession:
- A Biblio-Loisirs card for each person to register (including children under 6)
- Credit card (VISA or MasterCard)
- Valid e-mail address
Register in 10 easy steps
1.Go to loisirs.montreal.ca;
2.Select the session (spring 2018, summer 2018, or day camps 2018);
3.Select the borough of Verdun;
4.Consult the activities offered;
5.To add activities, click on the green basket to the left of each activity;
6.When you finish selecting your activities, click on “next step” at the bottom of the page;
7.Name the person you wish to register for each activity, indicating his or her Biblio-Loisirs card number and the telephone number listed on his or her file;
8.To make your payment, enter the payer’s Biblio-Loisirs card number, e-mail address and telephone number in the duly marked fields;
9.Continue by clicking on “Proceed to checkout” at the bottom of the screen;
10.Indicate the method of payment, enter the information requested, and click on “pay”.
Biblio-Loisirs card
Obtain your Biblio-Loisirs card and benefit from the many advantages it offers: purchase a membership to practice various activities (tennis, indoor swimming), reserve a badminton court in a borough gymnasium, and take part in sporting activities free of charge at specific gymnasiums in the borough of Verdun (for youth aged 6 to 17). The Biblio-Loisirs card is available at the Marcel-Giroux and Elgar community centres, the Verdun Library and the Accès Verdun offices. To find out more about the Biblio-Loisirs card.

Some organizations manage the registration for their activities. Registration will not be accepted if the course began more than three weeks earlier (courses managed by the borough).
When a person’s presence in a recreation activity is required solely in order to support and assist a person or persons with a disability, the Verdun borough allows that person to participate in activities free of charge. No admission fee will be charged to that person.
Please note that borough staff reserve the right to cancel a course or an activity without notice.

Badminton court rental
Hourly court rental
Badminton court rentals for free practice in various gymnasiums.
Participants must bring their own racquets and birdies. A supervisor is present on-site to ensure that the rental schedule is respected.

Passeport jeunesse
In accordance with Montréal’s recently adopted Policy on Children, the borough, in collaboration with several partners, offers the Passeport jeunesse, a tool that lets youth aged 17 and under and their families discover free activities offered by the borough and community-based organizations in Verdun. Passeport jeunesse holders who participate in a day activity receive a stamp.
Prizes to win
Participation in any of the 20 activities offered year-round as part of the Passeport jeunesse initiative have a chance to win several prizes, including an Apple gift card for $500, five gift certificates for $100 to the Librairie de Verdun, and two gift certificates for $500 to Cycles Campus Verdun.
Where to obtain a Passeport jeunesse
“Passeports jeunesse” are available at the Marcel-Giroux and Elgar community centre reception desks, and at libraries and Accès Montréal offices during the week of January 22, 2018.
Contest regulations
- Only children aged 0 to 17 may hold a Passeport jeunesse.
- Passeports jeunesse are stamped by a person in charge, only on the day of an event.
- Limit of one Passeport jeunesse per child
- Participation in a day activity is mandatory to receive a stamp.
- Limit of one prize per person
- The Passeport jeunesse must be returned to the Centre communautaire Marcel-Giroux, the Bibliothèque Jacqueline-De Repentigny or the Centre communautaire Elgar by no later than December 10, 2018.
- Winners will be informed by telephone on the day of the draw, December 17, 2018.
