Finding example database portlets

Oracle Portal ships a set of example database portlets in the EXAMPLE_APP provider.

All of the examples and example database portlets described in the online help are examples owned by and database objects referenced by EXAMPLE_APP. Any user automatically has Execute access privileges in EXAMPLE_APP. If you do not have these privileges, contact your DBA. Only the portal administrator or DBA can manage examples and objects referenced by EXAMPLE_APP.

To view one of the example database portlets shipped with Oracle Portal:

  1. On the Oracle Portal Home page, click on the shortcut bar.

  2. Click the Providers tab in the Oracle Portal Navigator.

The Name column of the Navigator displays the names of all providers in which you have privileges.

  3. Click EXAMPLE_APP.

  4. In the Name column, scroll to the example database portlet you want to view. Click its name; for example, EXAMPLE_FORM. The Manage database portlet page displays.

  5. Click to run the database portlet, or to enter your own parameters that will be passed to the database portlet before it runs.
