Waterside roadway

Montréal is an island and its shores abound with fascinating tales. Tracing for the most part the early routes that ran along the shoreline of the St. Lawrence River, Lac Saint-Louis, Lac des Deux Montagnes and Rivière des Prairies, the roadway is dotted with priceless discoveries that attest to Montréal’s deeply engrained island character.

The 180 km route evokes great moments in Montréal’s history and bears witness to the relationship that Montrealers have always had with the water than surrounds them.

An interactive map, available online, provides information about more than 900 heritage elements that make up the roadway.
