Prix Création Mon rêve
Nature of the award
Created in 2014, the Prix Création Mon rêve is awarded annually by AlterGo in collaboration with the Consulate General of the People’s Republic of China in Montréal, and Ville de Montréal. The Prix Création Mon rêve was made possible through a contribution by China Disabled People's Performing Arts Troupe from the proceeds of their benefit performance of Mon Rêve at Place des Arts de Montréal in fall 2012. The Troupe, which has organized solidarity events and benefit shows in more than 60 countries, was honoured with the title of UNESCO Artist for Peace in recognition of its role in promoting culture, friendship and understanding.
Method of evaluation
Applicants are evaluated by a panel of judges composed of representatives from AlterGo, Ville de Montréal’s Service de la culture et des arrondissements and a recognized regional cultural organization.
Applications are reviewed based on the following criteria:
- Improved access to cultural recreation through the offering of adapted artistic activities;
- Impact on the quality of the participants’ experience;
- Benefits to the arts discipline, community and artistic visibility of persons with disabilities.
The organization winning the annual Prix Création Mon rêve receives a $2,000 bursary awarded by AlterGo. In addition, Ville de Montréal provides $1,000 to help the organization prepare a free exhibition or show in one of the venues of the Accès Culture network in the following year. This event is one of the activities that are a continuation of the Mois de l’accessibilité universelle dans les bibliothèques de la Ville de Montréal.
