Mount Royal Heritage Site

Decreed in 2005, Mount Royal Heritage Site is an urban expanse surrounding Mount Royal.

The area is home not only to some of the largest green spaces on the Island of Montréal, but also to buildings and residential areas that developed over a period from the 19th century to today. Mount Royal Heritage Site includes Parc Mont-Royal with its lush urban forest, winding paths, lookouts and Beaver Lake; two large cemeteries: Mount Royal Cemetery and Cimetière Notre-Dame-des-Neiges; two Jewish cemeteries; institutional buildings and residential neighbourhoods.

The official Mount Royal website contains a wealth of useful information and documents that can be downloaded, including maps, archival photos, detailed history of the site and inventory of its built and natural heritage.
