Directional Statement

Following the 2002 Montréal Summit, the City committed to mapping out and implementing a heritage policy. The Executive Committee appointed an advisory group to produce a directional statement as a guide for the City’s development of a heritage policy, to be submitted for public consultation before adoption by City Council.

Heritage Policy

Adopted in May 2005, the Heritage Policypromotes the protection and preservation of the City’s heritage as a lever for the cultural, social and economic development of Ville de Montréal.

Status Reports

Each of the status reports describes major actions taken by the City and its partners since 2005 and sets out the broad terms of an action plan for the coming years.
