Division de l’action culturelle et des partenariats
The mission of the Division de l’action culturelle et des partenariats is to ensure that all citizens have access to culture and to encourage their participation in the city’s cultural life. The Division coordinates the Accès culture network, an umbrella group of 24 municipal performing arts and audiovisual arts groups in the 19 boroughs.
Through its cultural mediation strategy, the Division hosts activities that create a genuine exchange between professional artists and citizens who are as much performers as spectators. It also supports cultural artists and organizations through targeted cultural mediation programs. The mandate of the Division is to enrich and disseminate the City’s art collection. It oversees such municipal cultural programs and facilities as the Centre d’histoire de Montréal, the historic Chapelle du Bon-Pasteur, the Théâtre de Verdure, La Roulotte and the Campbell Concerts.
The diversity of professional arts endeavours and the ethnocultural mix of Montréal are major assets in the creation of a dynamic cultural metropolis. The Division acts on multiple fronts to help cultural vitality flourish in every corner of the city.
