September 19 is Celebration Day in Montréal-Nord!

The day begins at 9 a.m. at the public market at Parc Pilon. The market provides a golden opportunity to stock up on fresh produce.

Starting at 4 p.m., the place will come alive with street entertainment and artistic performances by Natalie Choquette, H’Sao, Eddy Pierre, the Bouge de là dance company, the artists’ collective Les Artistes en arts visuels du nord de Montréal and much more! Pick up the fixings for a picnic at the stalls or enjoy your own homemade treats with the family right in the street.

Nightfall holds the promise of a dazzling feast for the eyes with the lighting of La Vélocité des lieux.

Where monumental sculpture and fairground art meet

Located at the corner of Henri-Bourassa and Pie-IX, La Vélocité des lieux marks a new, completely redesigned gateway to the city that reserves a coveted place for public transit and sustainable economic development. The sculpture, reminiscent of a large carnival Ferris wheel, is constructed of five curved silhouettes of buses with eye-catching coloured elements integrated into the frame. The work of art embodies community spirit and motion.

A Work of Art Worthy of Being a New Gateway to the City
La Vélocité des lieux was designed and executed by the trio of modern artists BGL.
