Fun in the Great Outdoors

Yay, the days are getting longer! No better time to play in the great outdoors. Leave the computers and TV screens behind (but bring the sunblock) and enjoy everything life has to offer, from observing wildlife to sports, contemplative pastimes and dining pleasures!

Visiting one of Montréal’s six nature parks can feel like a real adventure! With their unspoiled landscapes, these pristine destinations provide an authentic encounter with nature. Spend the day exploring and be home the same night. Some nature parks are accessible by bus. Most offer equipment rentals (snowshoes, cross-country skis, carpet sleds or toboggans for little ones) and snack bars to satisfy those hunger pangs that are sure to come after a day in the great outdoors!

Parc-nature du Cap-Saint-Jacques even offers thrill-seekers an introduction to kite traction skiing ($ activity, ages 12 and up; reservations: 514-578-5638 – aerotraction.com). For a less extreme but just as intense experience, try some of these suggestions.
