Fitness in the Great Outdoors

This summer, the gym heads outdoors. Gone is the loud music blaring. There is just the soothing sound of birds and the rustling of the wind in the trees. The city’s nature parks provide an enchanting setting to work out with qualified trainers.

You’ve probably seen them in a park near you: groups of fitness aficionados of all ages getting in shape with Cardio Plein Air. But did you know that four of Montréal’s nature parks are being transformed into open-air gyms?

Picture yourself in the middle of the forest taking part in a physical fitness program with other outdoor enthusiasts. The pure air of the nature parks of Bois-de-l’Île-Bizard and Pointe-aux-Prairies invigorates you with energy and well-being. But be careful; don’t be distracted by the occasional animal that may wander close by… In the nature parks of Île-de-la-Visitation and Bois-de-Liesse, your push-ups and stretching are done to the rhythm of birds’ songs…

Cardio Muscle Toning, Cardio Stroller Exercising and Cardio Jogging: the opportunities to get in shape are endless. All activities are adapted to fitness levels and tastes.

And here’s a little secret: apparently enjoying nature makes a workout even more effective!
