A BREATH OF FRESH AIR

Winter 2018 in Montreal
Published on
January 12, 2018
So that you can fully enjoy this winter, we have chosen four activities for you that are off the beaten track.

These activities are taken from our winter print magazine, where young people are honored. You’ll be reading about mentorship and sharing knowledge and experience.

As we always do, we’ll also offer you activity suggestions: films, shows and exhibitions from the Accès culture network, some original items to borrow from libraries and outdoor outings in Montréal’s large parks.

Enjoy reading À nous!

BORROW A MUSEUM!

Centre d'histoire de Montréal

The Montréal public libraries and the Bibliothèque et Archives nationales du Québec (BAnQ) offer passes for two with which you can visit the Centre d’histoire and the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts as many times as you like. The passes can be borrowed for three weeks with your library card, just like a book!

DISCOVER THE FACES OF LOVE

The Aime comme Montréal photo exhibition presents 12 couples formed of native Montrealers, immigrants and members of indigenous communities. Through their stories that are told and illustrated by huge outdoor panels, see the true and intimate face of differences via the language of love.

Mikael Theimer and Jacques Nadeau offer more beautiful pictures than others. The photo on the cover of our winter magazine is from this exhibition!

EXPLORING THE UNDERGROUND CITY

All the tourists want to visit our underground city. Why not join them and discover it for yourself during the Festival Art Souterrain? The festival, with exhibition sites that are far from traditional, has celebrated contemporary art in the hallways and spaces of underground Montréal for the past nine years.
