The Saint-Joseph’s Oratory redevelopment

With 2 million visitors each year, Saint-Joseph’s Oratory, is Quebec’s third leading tourist attraction.
Saint-Joseph’s Oratory

In 2017, visitors will enjoy a renewed experience thanks to an ambitious site redevelopment project. The star attraction: the new panoramic observation centre constructed at the summit of the dome, which will offer an exceptional view of Mount Royal’s three summits, downtown Montréal, and the Olympic Tower. The highest window on the city!

The museum, gardens and bell tower will also get a makeover, and a new reception pavilion will open to the public. It will feature a food service area, a boutique and access to the Votive Chapel (which houses the tomb of Brother André).

Pedestrianization, universal access and lighting enhancements are also on the program.

The project concept draws on the fundamental principles of sustainable development.

This project is receiving financial support from the Government of Canada, the Government of Quebec and the Ville de Montréal.
Investment by the city: $10 million
