BLEU DE BLEU: An art installation connecting Montréal with Montréal–Pierre-Elliot Trudeau International Airport.

With BLEU de BLEU, Montréal will finally be able to assert its status as a cultural metropolis with newly arrived visitors and tourists—before they even set foot in the city.

A vast art installation will span a 8 km stretch of road including the sound abatement wall built alongside the autoroute leading to Montréal–Trudeau, thus transforming the stretch of road into an art corridor.

BLEU DE BLEU is the brainchild of artist Alain Paiement, whose work combines painting, photography, installations and architecture. An inspiring blend of art and infrastructure, this work will embody and further consolidate Montréal’s already strong identity as a creative city.

BLEU DE BLEU will be inaugurated in June 2017, in conjunction with the celebrations marking the 375th anniversary of Montréal.

Among the private partners helping to finance this project are the National Bank and several patrons.
